One of the objectives of the book is the in-depth exploration of some paradigmatic situations in the history of research ethics, as is the case of the Tuskegee study, discussed in all modules. This argumentative resource is available in its Portuguese language version, as it allows the modules to be used independently. In the original edition, in addition to the modules, there was a prologue as well as multiple choice questions that were not included in this version. The masculine form was used throughout the text in order to explicitly indicate which passages concern ethical issues related to women.
